The 900 is a compound fabric material made of phenolic resin-impregnated fine-weave cotton with added lubricants. It has the ability to absorb shock pressures reducing risk of damage to the seal. Guide bands are used to guide the piston and piston rod of a powerful cylinder and absorbing the lateral forces which occur. They are also used to prevent metal to metal contact between sliding parts which could result in metallic seizure.
