Silicone Oring
VMQ, S
Shore A Description:
The hardness of rubber compounds is measured by the Shore A durometer; the higher the durometer, the harder the compound. Softer compounds stretch easier and seal better on rough surfaces. Harder compounds offer greater abrasion resistance and resistance to extrusion.
60 Shore A is softer than 70
70 Shore A is the standard
90 Short A is very stiff
Specs:
Best over all temperature range of all currently available elastomers. Noted for excellent heat resistance.
Material:
FVMQ (Fluorosilicon)
Standard Service Temperature: -80°F - +450°F
Application:
High Temperature (Dry Heat), Low Temperature, High Analine Point Oil
Utilized in applications which expose seals to high temperature dry heat. Not recommended for dynamic applications due to relatively poor tensile and tear strength. Best low temperature flexibility of all elastomers and can be used in static applications to -150°F.
Not Compatible With: Most Petroleum Oils, Ketones, Dynamic Applications
